How to Take Care of Your Candle

Caring for your candle correctly will enhance its performance, preserve its fragrance, and ensure a clean, even burn every time. Thoughtful candle care not only extends the life of your candle but also elevates your overall experience.

Trim the Wick Before Every Burn

Always trim the wick to approximately 5–7 mm before lighting your candle. A properly trimmed wick helps control the size of the flame, reduces smoking and soot, and prevents the wick from mushrooming. This ensures a cleaner burn and protects both the wax and the surrounding environment. Using a wick trimmer or small scissors is recommended for precision.

Allow a Full Melt Pool

On the first burn, allow the candle to burn long enough for the melted wax to reach the edges of the container. This is essential to prevent tunnelling and ensures an even burn throughout the candle’s life. Each time you light your candle, aim to achieve a full melt pool to maximise fragrance throw and maintain a smooth wax surface.

Follow Recommended Burn Times

For best results, burn your candle for 2–4 hours at a time. Burning for shorter periods may cause tunnelling, while extended burns can overheat the wax and diminish the scent quality. Allow the candle to cool completely between burns to maintain its structure and performance.

Place on a Heat-Resistant Surface

Always place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface to protect furniture and countertops. Keep the candle away from drafts, air conditioning, open windows, or fans, as airflow can cause uneven burning and smoking. A calm environment ensures a steady flame and consistent fragrance release

Keep the Wax Pool Clean

Ensure the wax surface remains free from wick trimmings, dust, or debris. Foreign objects in the wax can interfere with the burn and pose a safety risk. A clean wax pool helps the candle burn evenly and maintains the candle’s elegant appearance.

Extinguish with Care

To preserve the wick and minimise smoke, extinguish your candle gently. A candle snuffer is ideal, but you may also carefully dip the wick into the melted wax and straighten it after extinguishing. Avoid blowing out the flame, as this can cause smoke and disturb the wax surface.

Store Your Candle Correctly

When not in use, store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Excessive heat or sunlight can soften the wax and affect fragrance quality. Proper storage preserves the candle’s appearance, scent, and longevity.

Important Safety Advice

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always keep candles out of reach of children and pets, and discontinue use when approximately 1 cm of wax remains at the bottom of the container.

Candle Bouquet Care Guide

Candle bouquets are designed to combine elegant presentation with individual candle enjoyment. While the bouquet itself is a decorative display, each candle must be removed and burned separately to ensure safe and proper use. Candle bouquets are not intended to be lit while inside the box or arrangement, as the packaging and decorative elements are not heat-resistant.

Before lighting, carefully remove one candle at a time from the bouquet. Place the candle securely on a stable, heat-resistant candle holder or tray designed specifically for candle use. This prevents heat damage to surfaces and allows the candle to burn evenly and safely. Never place a lit candle back into the bouquet or box.

Each candle should be burned individually, following standard candle care guidelines. Allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface during each burn, and never leave a burning candle unattended. Burning candles separately helps maintain an even flame, reduces the risk of overheating, and preserves the integrity of both the candle and the bouquet arrangement.

Once the candle has cooled completely, it may be safely stored or returned to its decorative presentation if desired. Always ensure the candle is fully extinguished and cooled before handling. Keep candle bouquets away from children, pets, drafts, and flammable materials.

By following these candle bouquet care instructions, you can enjoy the beauty of a luxury candle bouquet while ensuring a safe, clean-burning, and long-lasting candle experience.

Sculpture & Decorative Candles

Sculpture candles are primarily designed as decorative pieces. If you choose to burn your candle, please follow these care guidelines carefully:

  • Trim the wick to approximately 5 mm (¼ inch) before each use

  • Burn for up to 4 hours at a time (less for smaller candles)

  • Always place candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface

  • Keep away from drafts, flammable materials, furniture, draperies, children, and pets

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Discontinue use when a small amount of wax remains at the base.
